This is a trail covering the eastern side of Kyoto, starting from the Silver Temple, Ginkaku-ji. Take bus 206 from the bus stop outside the machiya or rent bicycles to get to the first pit stop. If you are up to it, you can tackle this as a heavy duty walking trail but break it up over a couple of days. You can also reverse the trail and start from Fushimi Inari Taisha instead. If you’re starting from Fushimi Inari Taisha, you also have the option of taking the trains to get there.
